Indian Mutual Fund Industry Statistics for Q3 0607

The business media have just completed the compilation of statistics of the Mutual Fund Industry for the Third Quarter of the year.

The statistics are quite interesting - a small listing:

ELSS, as expected, makes the bulk of the investments that enter into the MF industry during the quarter.

Total Assets under management is at a record Rs 323,598 cr withΒ total number ofΒ investors crossing the 2.67 crore mark (despite this the industry feels the MF is still under penintrated)

Nearly 79% of investments go into private MF

Infosys announces Q3 Results

Infosys has announced its Q3 results for the year 2006-07. The results are impressive enough though many analysts feel they are a bit low compared to their expectations. Much of the blame this time goes to the Indian Rupee - US Dollar fluctuations.

The markets reacted positively at the announcement as evident from the start to the end on the results announcement day. The markets which are in deep red for the past few days have opened up in green and ended back in green even when most other Asian markets ended in red. Won’t this be enough to show how much value Infosys add’s to the Indian stock market?
