Taurus Infra Tips from Taurus Mutual Fund

Taurus Mutual Fund has announced the launch of the Taurus Infra Tips – an open ended equity thematic fund whose objective is to provide capital appreciation and income distribution to unitholders by investing pre-dominantly in equity and equity related securities of the companies belonging to the infrastructure sector, it’s related industries inclusive of suppliers of capital goods, raw materials and other supportive services to the infrastructure companies and balance in debt and money market instruments. The fund will be in the NFO from 5 February, 2007 till 5 March, 2007.

Infrastructure is undoubtedly one of the sector that is booming in India. Scripts in the stock markets reflected the same with a good appreciation of shares of Infrastructure companies. Most fund houses too have put in a good number of money into infrastructure scripts. There are many infrastructure-specific funds too that are rolled out in the past.

Slowly into the recovery - Feb 8, 2007 @ 1:30 PM

The markets began a slow recovery phase with some buying interest visible amongst traders. NIFTY is currently at 4208.85. NIFTY touched an all-time high of 4245.30 during the trade today.

GBN, Reliance Communications (-1.6%), IFCI (-1.8%), BHEL (0.98%), Satyam Computers (-1.47%), ICICI Bank (1.92) are in the list of top trading scripts on NSE.

The advance-decline ratio is at 15-35. While Zee Tele, ICICI Bank, ABB, REL and BPCL are pulling the markets up, Hindalco, Bajaj Auto, Dabur, GAIL and Suzlon are pulling it down.

LIC launches new Child plans

Life Insurance Corporation of India, India’s largest Insurance company, has announced the launch of two new plans targeted at future of children. The plans, Child Career Plan and Child Future Plan, according to the advertisement that came today in leading newspapers says will keep children two steps ahead.

The general features of the plan are Survival benefits suitable for higher education / career, Risk cover for extended term, Premium waiver benefit (PWB) available as an optional rider and Auto cover facility.
