Positive close, at last - Feb 26, 2007

The markets saw a good volatile action today. At one stage, the markets were in deep red but recovered remarkably to close positive. The Sensex closed at 13649.52 (+16.99) while the Nifty closed at 3942 (+3.05).

USD/INR is at 44.21

Rebounding back to positive - Feb 26, 2007 @ 3:15 PM

The markets took a U turn and are back towards the positive territory. NIFTY is currently at 3933.00 (-0.15%). Banking stocks the best utilization of the opportunity to be in the safe green territory. Advances to Declines amongst Top Nifty Banking stocks is at 8 to 4.

The leaders pack include PNB (+4.8%), Bank of India (+3.4%), Bank of Baroda (+2.1%) and Canara Bank (+1.9%)

The loosers pack include Oriental Bank (-2.2%), Union Bank (-1.6%), HDFC Bank (-1.01%) and ICICI Bank (-0.5%)

Into the red - Tech Stocks down little over 1.2% - Feb 26, 2007 @ 11:30 AM

The markets began to quickly loose points. NIFTY is currently at 3890.05 (-1.24%). All NSE indices are currently in red.

IT stocks are loosing their shine today. Rolta continued to be sold in the market. The stock is currently trading at 310.65 (-6.80). Wipro too is the taking the market heat and is trading at 598. 25 (-4.02).

Other big technology stocks in the loosers list include Polaris (-2.95%), FinanTech (-2.8%) and GTL (-2.2%)

Amongst Technology stocks that are currently doing well are HTMT (+4.2%), HCL Insys (+2.8%), Hexaware (+2.6%), Satyam Computers (+1.5%) and HCL Tech (+1.55%)

Markets slightly being in the red territory - Feb 26, 2007 - Opening time

The markets opened slightly in the red territory. NIFTY is currently at 3926.85 (-0.31%). Alchemist, SiySil, IndoAsifu, VHL are amongst the top trades in the first few minutes of the day’s trade.

Railway Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav will be submitting the Indian Railway Budget 2007 today.

C & C Constructions Limited and Transwarranty Finance Limited are getting listed today.
