Markets close week at the end of the weak - Mar 9, 2007

The weakness continued to haunt the markets today as almost all indices closed marginally in the red territory. The markets opened positive compared to yesterdays closure but soon continued to loose points. But by noon, they took a recovery course and reached the yesterday’s closure levels. This however did not last for long and more stocks entered into the red territory. A similar recourse was seen at about 2:45 PM but even this attempt too failed and the markets finally closed in the red.

Nifty lost over a percentage points to close at 3684.25. CNX 500 closed at 3024.45 (-0.80%). CNX Midcap closed at 4624.55 (-0.52%). CNX 100 ended weak to close at 3556.05 (-1.11%).
