Value of deals reported on ICDM on  15th  March , 07 , through ICDM System as well as Internet portal is = Rs.145.16 Crs.

Total Number of deals :   53

Please find hereinbelow data on F&O turnover (one sided) for the trade date 15 March 2007.

1.) Sensex Futures = Rs. 726.63 crores.
2.) Reliance Futures = Rs.55.74 crores.
3.) Total F&O Turnover = Rs. 782.37 crores.

All the above values represent one sided turnover.

Bharti group and AXA pacts for mutual fund business in India

The pact between Sunil Mittal’s Bharti group and its Insurance-partner AXA are all set to extend their tie up to Mutual fund business in India. More details on this yet are still awaited.

On a related development, the duo are also examining the possibility of launching a real estate fund too. However, Sunil Mittal, Chairman of the Bharti group made it clear that they have no plans to enter into Banking business.

Indian markets close at their starting levels - March 15, 2007 - Closing Bell

The markets could not hold their early gains as they tumbled down during the second-half of the trade. S&P CNX NIFTY closed at 3643.60 (+0.07%) which is close to where it opened the day. All other indices too followed this route. CNX NIFTY JUNIOR closed at 6468.10 (+0.15%), CNX IT ended at 5184.25 (+1.64%)

Sensex closed at 12543.85 (+14.23 pts)

Gainers of the day include Dr Reddy, ITC, Infosys Technologies, MTNL, GAIL, SAIL, NationAlum, Hindalco, Siemens and Tata Consultancy Services.

Leading losers of the day include HCLTech, Grasim, HDFC, State Bank of India, Suzlon, Tata Motors, ACC, Reliance Communications, Zee Limited and Punjab National Bank.

USD/INR is at 44.20

Markets trading flat, IT stocks trading firm - Mar 15, 2007 @ 12: 45

Markets are trading flat with more likely chances of turning more into the positive direction. NIFTY is currently at 3704.30 (+1.74%). CNX IT is at 5228.70 (+2.5%)

Amongst CNX IT stocks, 19 stocks are advancing while 1 is declining. Rolta (+8%), CMC (+6%), Polaris (+4.5%), HCL Insys and Infosys Technologies (both +3%) are trading firm while HCL Tech (-2.9%) is trading weak.

ITC plans foray into snacks market; Launches Bingo

ITC Limited is planning a foray into snacks market and will be investing about Rs. 350 crores in the next three to four years as per a leading business daily. The ITC Foods Division has launched Bingo brand of snacks in 16 flavors. The company is planning to grab 25% of market share in this segment in four to five years time.

Currently, Lays and Kurkure dominate the modern snacks market while Halidrams dominate the traditional snacks market. Growing income levels and appetite for ready made foods by people living in urban regions would make the snacks market to be doing well in the next few years.

On the NSE, ITC closed yesterday at 142.90, opened today at 145.00 saw an intraday high of 150 and is currently trading at 149.10
