Volatile yet solid - March 19, 2007 - 3:00 PM

The markets continued to stay volatile. NIFTY is currently at 3651.95 (+1.20%). The Top gainers managed to be on top of the charts. Toppers of the Nifty 50 chart are MNTL, Reliance Communications, GAIL, BHEL, Jet Airways, BPCL, HDFC, Tata Motors, ONGC and HDFC Bank. HDFC Bank slipped a bit and is currently trading at 903.5.

The loosers charts include National Aluminium, ITC, Hero Honda, Dr. Reddy, Tata Power, Sun Pharma, Glaxo, Hindalco, Tata Steel and Reliance.

Inroads into deep positive territory - March 19, 2007 @ 1:00 PM

The markets seems to have decided to go the bullish way as select stocks began to gain weight. All indices are advancing well with IT stocks gaining more faster than any other sector.

Amongst Nifty 50 scripts, BPCL, HPCL, GAIL, ONGC, VSNL, Wipro, Suzlon (all +2%) and HLL and Reliance Communications (+1%) are gaining. Nifty 50 loosers list so far includes ITC, Hero Honda, National Aluminium, Hindalco and Tata Power

Remaining volatile - March 19, 2007 - 11: 30 AM

The markets are taking volatile moves. Indices gained some strength but not good enough for it to take one straight route. NIFTY is at 3634.75 (0.71%). IT stocks are gaining strength as CNX IT a percentage point.

On the CNX IT, 18 stocks are advancing while 2 are declining. Rolta continued to be a hot IT pick as was visible in the past 2 - 3 weeks of trade. The stock opened at 355.00, saw an intraday high of 370.80 and intraday low of 355.00 so far and is currently trading 365.75 (+4.02%)

Other stocks getting some good buying are MPhasis, CMC, Wipro and IGS while Hexaware and Financial Technologies have lost a bit  and are trading in red.

Markets opens in green - March 19, 2007 - Opening bell

Markets opened the first day of the week in green. NIFTY is up 0.89% at 3640.80 as against its previous closure of 3608.55. All indices are in green on either sides of +1%.

Stocks that are gaining good buying include GAIL, HDFC Bank (both +2%), BPCL, M&M, Suzlon, Siemens, Cipla, Satyam Computers, HPCL and VSNL (all +1%). ITC, National Aluminium and Tata Power are partial weak.
