The recovery during the last hour of trade has helped the stock markets to close the day in green. NIFTY gained 0.9% and closed at 3798.10. Sensex closed at 12,979.66 gaining 95.32 points or 0.74%. Stocks in FMCG sector made a last minute recovery.
BSE Sectoral Index of FMCG gained 2%. BSE Sectoral Index of Consumer Durables, Capital goods and HC closed up 2%. Banking, Auto and Metal stocks closed marginally in red.
Sobha Developers gained Rs. 61.65 to close 8% up on the BSE. Union Bank of India, Idea Cellular (both up 5%), CESC Ltd, Vijaya Bank, Zee Entertainment, Jet Airways (all +4%), TCS, HCL Tech and National Fertilizers (all +3%) topped the charts on BSE today.
Tech stocks had a mixed day today. CNXIT had 14 stocks advancing, 5 stocks declining and 1 stock unchanged by closing time. Subex (+5%), HCL Tech (+4%), TCS (+3%), IGS and MPhasis (+2%) closed in green. Hexaware, GTL (both -2%), Finantech (-1%), IFlex and Infosys (marginally in red) lost few points today. IFlex almost touched the 2000 levels. The script opened at 2040, touched intraday low of 1997 and closed at 2001 on the NSE. HCL Tech managed to close at 300.40 on the NSE. CNX IT closed 1.6&% up.
Banking stocks had a bad day today aswell. Bank Nifty had 4 stocks advancing while 8 stocks pulled it downward. Union Bank of India (+5.9%), PNB (+2%), OBC and SBI (+1%) closed in green while Bank of India, UTI Bank (-3%), HDFC Bank, Syndicate Bank (-2%) and Canara Bank (-1%) closed the day in red.
Nifty 50 toppers of the day are HCL Tech, Zee Limited, BPCL (all +4%), TCS, HLL, Jet Airways, L&T (all +3%), Hero Honda, ITC and Guajar Ambhuja (all +2%). Top Nifty 50 Losers of the day are HDFC Bank (-2%), HPCL, Bajaj Auto, Hindalco, MTNL, ABB, Glaxo (all -1%), GAIL, Siemens and Grasim (all marginally in red) closed the day with marginal losses today.

Recovery in some select picks has helped the market to gain more ground into positive territory. NIFTY is at 3802.60 pts (1.10%) while Sensex is at 12,988.91 (104.57 pts; 0.81%)
IT stocks are picking favor as CNX IT is trading at 5174.50 (+1.5%). BSE IT Sectoral Index too gained about 40 points. On the CNX IT, 13 stocks are advancing as against to 7 declining. Subex (+5%), TCS (+4%), MPhasis, Rolta (both +2%) and Satyam Computers (+1%) are leading. The losers pack is head by Hexaware (-2%) followed by Finantech (-1%), GTL, IFlex and Infosys Technologies (marginally weak).

NIFTY is currently at 3764.60. While stocks in IT sector recovered, banking stocks continued to little more bottom ground.
Major Nifty 50 losers are HDFC Bank, GAIL, OBC, Tata Motors (all -2%), Glaxo, M&M, Bajaj Auto, ICICI Bank, Suzlon and SBI (all -1%)
