Sensex up 11.8 points at close time - April 10, 2007

NIFTY closed the day at 3848.15 (+0.12%) while Sensex closed at 13,189.54 (+11.80 points; +0.09%)

Sensex Midcap index closed at +0.77% while Smallcap index closed at +1.08%

All sectoral indices on Sensex are flat. BSE IT index however closed -2.07%. CNX IT closed -1.65% while Bank Nifty managed to close at 0.03%. Sensex FMCG index closed +2.18%

Top gainers of the day on the Sensex are Balaji Tele, Moser Baer, Jaiprak Asso, Escorts, IGate Global, Arvind Mills, BPCL, JSW Steel, Sun Pharma and Bank of India. Top loosers of the day on the Sensex are Satyam Computers, ICI India, United Phosp, Bharat Electric, Wipro, MPhasis, Infosys, CESC, Hexaware and UTI Bank.

Top gainers on Nifty 50 are BPCL, Sun Pharma, HDFC, ITC, Tata Motors, Glaxo, HDFC Bank, HLL, VSNL and Ranbaxy. IT stocks led the losers list on NSE. Satyam Computers, Infosys, Wipro, TCS, HCL Tech, PNB, Bajaj Auto, Dr. Reddy, L&T and GAIL were topped the losers list.

In the 12-stock Bank Nifty, 4 stocks advanced while 8 declined. The top gainers are Bank of India, HDFC Bank, Corporation Bank and SBI while the top losers are UTI Bank, Union Bank, Bank of Baroda, OBC and PNB.

Midcap IT stocks stole the show today as large-cap IT stocks failed. Of the 20-stock CNX IT, 9 advanced while 11 declined. Moser Baer, Finan Tech, GTL, IFlex, Rolta were in the gainers list while Satyam Computers, Hexaware, MPhasis, Infosys and Wipro found place in the loses list.

Rebounding into green - April 10, 2007 - 3:05 PM

The markets having seen some dips in the initial hours of trade are back into the green now. NIFTY is at 3858.15 (+0.38%) while Senses added 36.42 points and is currently at 13,214.16.

Sensex Midcap index continued to show a dull show while Smallcap index crossed the 1% mark. Almost all Sectoral indices on Sensex are in green except for the IT which is down 95.85 points or 1.9%.

Sensex gainers list now has Balaji Tele, Moser Baer, Escorts, Jaiprak, Arvind Mills, IGate Global, JSW Steel, BPCL, Sun Pharma and Indian Bank.

Markets gets more into the red - April 10, 2007 - 12:45 PM

The so called ‘positive sentiment’ soon is looking to vanish as traders continued their cautious moves today. Nifty is at 3828.10 (-0.40%). Sensex is at 13,114.10 and has lost 63.64 points (-0.48%)

Midcap and Smallcap indices remain partially in the green while IT and Bankex sectoral indices are loosing. FMCG and Metal indices are strong and are over +1% mark.

Markets in confusing mood for a proper direction - April 10, 2007 - 11:00 AM

Markets seems to be lot more cautious today. Nifty is currently at 3835.95 (-0.20%) while Sensex is at 13,143.64 having lost 34.10 points or 0.26%

Midcap and Smallcap stocks however are in the green. Bank and IT are sectoral indices are down by 1% while Consumer Durables, Capital Goods, Oil and TECk are holding marginally in the red.

Top gainers on the Sensex in the trades so far are IGate Global, Indian Bank, Balaji Tele, GTL, Escorts, Bongaingaon Refineries, Sterlite Industries, Container Corporation, BPCL and Compton Graves.

Markets open marginally low - April 10, 2007

The Indian stock markets opened marginally low this morning. Sensex opened at 13,236.20 as against its previous closure of 13,177.74 and is down by -15.67 points or -0.12%

Midcap and Smallcap indices are positive. Bank, Consumer Durables, IT, Oil & Gas and PSU Sectoral indices are marginally in red at opening time.
