Trade in the stock markets went rather dull, flat and range bound today. NIFTY closed at 3862.65 (+0.38%) while Sensex lost 6.30 points to close at 13,183.24
Nifty Junior closed at 6940.55 and is down 0.40%. CNX 100 closed at 3740.15 and is up 0.27%. Both CNX IT and Bank Nifty closed marginally in the red.
On the BSE, the Midcap index added 55.55 points while Smallcap index added 54.77 points in the days trade. BSE 100, 200 and 500 barely closed in the green. Sectorally, Bankex, FMCG, Health Care and IT closed in the red. Metal stock continued their sequel of outsmarting other indices. The Metal index added 330.86 points and closed +3.68%. Capital goods was the other index that closed in reasonably green by adding 1.11%.
Major gainers on the BSE include Geometric Software, Welsp Gujarat, Suzlon Energy, National Aluminium, Punj Lloyd, Sterlite Industries, Str Optical, Great Eastern, Syngenta and DLink. BSE losers of the day include Jet Airways that lost 35.95 points followed by UTI Bank, IGate Global, Ranbaxy, Zee Entertainment, Finolex Cables, CMC Ltd, Dr. Reddys, BPCL and Kotak Bank.
On the NSE Nifty, top gainers charts are lead by National Alumnium, Suzlon, Sterlizte, Hindalco, SAIL, Tata Power, Reliance Petrol, Tata Steel, GAIL and BHEL. The losers list was lead by Ranbaxy, BPCL, Dr. Reddy, HPCL, Zee Limited, ACC, HDFC, Hindustan Leaver, Gujarat Ambhuja Cements and Reliance Communications.
On the Bank Nifty, 2 stocks advanced, 9 declined and 1 remained unchanged. Top losers in the index are Bank of India (-2.2%), Canara Bank (-0.23%) and HDFC Bank (-1.27%)
On the CNX IT, 7 stocks advanced and 13 declined. IT Toppers in the index are Polaris (+4%), Tata Elxsi (+3%), GTL (+2%), Subex and Mastek (both +1%). Moser Baer that closed positive yesterday was in red today. The script lost 2.44% and closed at 325.35. Other top stocks in the losers list are CMC, Satyam Computers, HCL Tech and FinanTech.

The markets have lost few points and are trading flat and completely range bound. NIFTY is currently 3864.05 and is up by 0.41%. Sensex is trading at 13,221.55 and is up by 32.01 points or 0.24%
Midcap index is up 1.25% while 1.17%. FMCG and Health Care indices just dipped into the red while Metal stocks continued to gain strength. The BSE Metal Sectoral index is up 2.62%
BSE top gainers so far are Wels Guj, Balaji Tele, Geometric Software, Str Optical, Polaris Lab, Sterlite Industries, Great Eastern, DLink India and Suzlon Energy while the losers pack includes Jet Airways, United Phosphate, HLL, Dr. Reddy, BPCL, UTI Bank, India Cement, IGate Global, HPCL amongst others.

The stock markets are holding the gains they have made during the early trading hour. Nifty is at 3875.50 (+0.71%) while Sensex is at 13,274.12 having gained 84.58 points or +0.64%. Both midcap and smallcap indices are up by about +1.46%.
Sensex Metal stock index is up 2.46%. Consumer durables index is up 1.42%, Capital goods index is up by 1.95% while PSU index is up by 1.01%. IT stocks are taking a rebound.

Bulls are back into the action with the Indian stock markets adding points to stay in the green territory. The Sensex that closed at 13,189.54 opened this morning at 13,221.76 and is currently at 13,288.62 adding 99.08 points. Midcap index added 1.2% while Smallcap index is up 1.34%. Nifty is currently at 3874.45 and is up 0.68%
Sectorally, Metal stocks are confidently in positive. The index is up 2.4% already. All indices on the BSE and NSE are currently in the positive territory.
Looking at select scripts, Balaji Tele, Welsp Gujarat, Polaris, Tata Steel, Ispat Industries, Arvind Mills, Rashtriya Chemicals, Suzlon, MTNL and Escorts are trading positive and have topped in the BSE charts. The losers list includes Jet Airways, HDFC, Finolex, HLL, Gillette, GAIL, Cadila, Aditya Birla Nuvo, Grasim and Sterl Biotec.
