The media had reports on April 15, 2007 that Rashtriya Chemicals And Fertilizers Ltd. may set up a joint venture projects in West Asia with Kuwait-based petrochemical firms, namely Boubyan Petrochemical Company and Al Qurain Petrochemicals Industries.
The Exchange, in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded, had written to the officials of the company.
Rashtriya Chemicals And Fertilizers Ltd has vide its letter inter-alia stated,”The Company has been exploring the possibilities of setting up joint ventures to increase the production of fertilizers and in this connection some preliminary discussions have taken place with some of the manufacturers in the field. As it is purely exploratory, no detailed discussions/negotiations have occurred with any of the parties and the Company would go in for any ventures only after establishing the economic viability of the ventures.”
