Indian Markets opens low - May 9, 2007
The US Markets closed mixed while the Asian Markets are trading flat. Amidst this background, the Indian stock markets opened in the red this morning. Nifty is at 4055.80 points and is down 0.52%. CNX IT is down 0.34% while Bank Nifty is down 0.45%
Sensex is down 59.01 points and is at 13,706.45. Midcap index is marginally in the green while the Smallcap index has dipped into the red by 0.21%. Almost all sectoral indices are trading in the red. The Consumer Durables index is down 0.57%.
The Sensex gaines in the early hours of trade are ICI India, Dena Bank, Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers, Indian Oil, Rolta India, HMT Ltd, Parsvnath, Neyveli Lignite, Canara Bank and SKF India. Early losers are Dredging Corporation, MIRC Electronics, CMC Ltd, GAIL India, Geometric Software, Ranbaxy, Tata Power, HDFC, Hindustan Zinc amongst others.
