Markets gains points after weak start; Closes positive - May 25, 2007
The Indian Stock Markets finally have closed in the green following a reversal in the trend after seeing the opening in the red. S&P CNX NIFTY closed the day at 4248.15 and is up by 1.03%. CNX IT added 1.97% while BANK NIFTY managed to shed out its losses to close marginally in the red at 0.13%.
The 20 script CNX IT had 17 advancing and 3 declining. Amongst the gainers of the day are Patni, Tech Mahindra, Polaris, CMC and Satyam. The losers list had Subex, Moser Baer and Rolta.
The 12 script Bank Nifty is undecided about its course - 6 advanced and 6 declined. The gainers list had Corporation Bank, SBI, OBC, Bank of Baroda and Union Bank. Amongst Banking stock losers of the day are HDFC Bank, Bank of India, UTI Bank, Canara Bank and Punjab National Bank.
All cheers on the Sensex too. The BSE Sensex closed at 14,338.45 adding 120.34 points in todays trade. The Midcap and Smallcap indices too added marginally. IT and Capital Goods Sectoral indices have added over 2% points in todays trade. Banks and Consumer Durables indices closed marginally in the red.
