CNX NIFTY closed at 4249.65 and is down 1.02%. CNX NIFTY JUNIOR is down 1.35%. IT stocks continue to look weak. CNX IT closed down 1.63%. BANK NIFTY is down 0.90% while CNX 100 lost 1.06%
On the CNX IT, only 1 stock advanced while 19 declined. HCL Tech closed at 344 and is up 0.35%. Top losers include Patni, Tata Elxsi, CMC, Polaris and Satyam Computers.
On the Bank Nifty, 3 stocks advanced while 9 declined. Top gainers include Union Bank, OBC and SBI while the losers pack is lead by HDFC Bank, Kotak Bank, Bank of India, PNB and Bank of Baroda.
The Sensex closed 96.83 points in todays trade and closed at 14,411.38. The Midcap index lost over a percentage point while Small cap lost 0.5%. Consumer Durables and Capital Goods sectoral indices remained strong while almost all other indices closed in the red with Bank, FMCG, Metal and IT begin top sectoral index losers.
Top gainers of the day are L&T, Hero Honda, Housing Development Finance Co,Bajaj Auto, Gujarat Ambuja Cements, SBI and Tata Motors. Top losers of the day include Reliance Communications, Reliance Energy, HDFC Bank, BHEL, Hindalco, Infosys, Maruti Udyog, HLL, Cipla and ACC.

The Indian Stock Markets opened the second trading day of the week in positive. NIFTY is at 4258.25 and is up 0.04%; CNX NIFTY JUNIOR is up 0.33%; CNX IT down by 0.59% while BANK NIFTY up at 0.15%.
Sensex is at 14,414.48 and is up 16.59 points or 0.12%. The Midcap index is up 0.59% and Smallcap index is up 0.59%. Capital Goods & Health care sectoral indices good while Oil & Gas, IT and Metal are in red.
Early gainers of the day are Ranbaxy, L&T, BHEL, Reliance Energy, Housing Development Finance Corp, Reliance Communications, Cipla, HLL, SBI and Dr. Reddy. Early top losers on Sensex include Satyam, Grasim, Wipro, Gujarat Ambuha, TCS, ACC, Bharti Airtel & Hero Honda.

On May 28, 2007, the Futures and Options trading system of the Bombay Stock Exchange developed technical snags relating to the hardware and came to a halt around 1.08 p.m. After investigation, diagnosis and initiation of corrective measures, the system and the trade/order databases were restored and normal trading resumed around 2.10 p.m. The trading session in the segment ended at the normal time of 3.30 p.m.
