Market-wide Position Limit in IDBI

NSE Press Release

The derivative contracts in the underlying IDBI have crossed 95% of the market-wide position limit on May 28, 2007. It is hereby informed that all clients/ members shall trade in derivative contracts of IDBI by offsetting their existing positions till the open interest comes down to 80% of the market wide position limit.

Markets close positive despite last hour selling - May 28, 2007

Selling in the last hours of trade has dragged the markets back to almost the opening levels.

CNX NIFTY closed the day at 4256.55 and is up 0.20%. CNX NIFTY JUNIOR closed at 8029.95 and is up 0.70%. CNX IT closed in the red at 5274.80 and is down 0.65%. BANK NIFTY ended the day at 6283.95 and is up 1.35%. CNX 100 closed up 0.27%.

On the Bank Nifty, 9 advanced and 3 declined. Gainers of the day are HDFC Bank, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, OBC and Bank of India. Losers of the day are UTI Bank, Kotak Bank and Union Bank. On CNX IT, 10 stocks advanced and 10 stocks declined. Gainers of the day are Patni, Tata Elxsi, Hexaware, HCL Insys and Rolta. Losers of the day include Tech Mahindra, Polaris, HCL Tech, IFlex and Mastek.

The Sensex closed at 14,397.89 gaining 59.44 points or 0.41%. Midcap index is up 1.03% while Smallcap index is up 0.95%. On the sectoral index, Auto, Bankex, Health care gained over a percentage point. Top Gainers on Sensex are HDFC Bank, L&T, Gujarat Ambuja, Maruti Udyog, Cipla, Bajaj Auto, Housing Development Finance Co, ACC, Reliance Communications and ICICI Bank. Top losers of the day are Hindustan Leaver Ltd, Infosys Technologies, Reliance Energy, NTPC, Satyam Computers, Wipro, TCS, Bharti Airtel, ITC and Hindalco.
