Markets stay positive – June 19, 2007 – 1:00 Noon

The stock markets continued to add few more points though the trading in general looks flat. Sensex added about 40 points while Nifty added a mere 10 points. ICICI FPO got oversubscribed showcasing the confidence of Indian investors on India’s largest private bank. Banking sector in general is positive today.

IT stocks continued to be under the hammer as major IT scripts lost few points. Markets analysts, however are bullish on the long term Indian IT story and says that stream isn’t out yet.

Markets open positive - June 19, 2007 - 10:10 AM

S&P CNX NIFTY is at 4151.35 and is up 0.10%. NIFTY JUNIOR is at 8105.50 and is up 0.18%. CNX IT is marginally down while Banking stocks look firm.

Top Banking stock gainers of the day include HDFC Bank, PNB, Bank of India, ICICI Bank and Kotak Bank while the losers list include Union Bank, UTI Bank, Corporation Bank and Bank of Baroda.
