The Bombay Stock Exchange Ltd. announced the launch of BSE Realty Index on July 9, 2007 to mark its 133rd Foundation Day.
The ‘BSE Realty Index’ on September 21, 2007 opened at 9053.57 and touched an intra-day high of 9281.11 to close the day at 9183.44, up by 139.04 points, 1.54% from its previous close of 9044.40. It touched an intra-day low of 9040.21.

The closing trading day of the week gained green which is a positive sign. NSE and BSE both gained green in the Indian markets.
NSE Nifty closed at 4837.55 points and is up 1.90%. Nifty Junior is up 0.70%. CNX IT is up 0.83% while BANK NIFTY is up 1.01%. CNX 100 closed up 1.72%.
Amongst CNX IT Rolta,Mastek,TCS,Polaris and Infosystch closed in green while Subex,Mphasis,TechM,HCL-Insys and CMC closed in red.
On the Bank Nifty, Orient Bank,Union Bank,SBIN,Kotak Bank and Canara Bank closed in the green while HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank closed in red.
BSE Sensex closed at 16,564.23 points and is up 216.28. BSE Midcap and BSE Smallcap indices too closed less than a percent up. Top sectoral indices gainers include Auto,Bankex,Consumer Durables, FMCG, Health care and IT.
