The opening trading day of the week continued to be in green which is a positive sign for the Indian markets. Actually the markets entered into the red territory but as the noon began to approach, the bulls overtook and the markets started to enter into a rally phase before ending up in the green by the days close. NSE and BSE both closed in the green at the end of the day.
NSE Nifty closed at 5068.95 points and is up 0.95%. Nifty Junior is up 2.01%. CNX IT is down 0.78% while BANK NIFTY is down 0.68%. CNX 100 closed up 1.09%.
Amongst CNX IT HCL-Insys, CMC, GTL, Infosys technologies and Rolta closed in green while Tech Mahindra, Patni, TCS, Finantech and Mphasis closed in red.
On the Bank Nifty, Union Bank of India,Kotak Bank,Canara Bank,Bank of Baroda and OBC closed in the green while SBI, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, PNB and ICICI Bank closed in red.
BSE Sensex closed at 17,328.62 points and is up 37.52. BSE Midcap index closed more than a percent up while BSE Smallcap indices closed less than a percent up.
Top sectoral index gainers include Auto, Bankex, Consumer Durables, FMCG, Health care and IT.
