Intra-day BSE Realty Index Movement – October 26, 2007

The Bombay Stock Exchange Ltd. announced the launch of BSE Realty Index on July 9, 2007 to mark its 133rd Foundation Day.

The ‘BSE Realty Index’ on October 26, 2007 opened at 9840.20 and touched an intra-day high of 10130.15 to close the day at 10020.75, up by 213.45 points, 2.18% from its previous close of 9807.30. It touched an intra-day low of 9778.26.

Markets end week in positive despite P-note jitters

The closing trading day of the week started in the positive, turned volatile in the early trades and then took the positive course of action. NSE and BSE both ended in the green by closing bell.

NSE Nifty closed at 5702.30 points and is up 2.39%. Nifty Junior is up 3.30%. CNX IT is up 1.23% while BANK NIFTY is up 3.81%. CNX 100 closed up 2.51%.

Amongst CNX IT CMC,I-Flex,Satyam Computers,Finantech and TCS closed in green while Mindtree,Rolta,TechM and Hexaware closed in red.

On the Bank Nifty,SBIN,Axis Bank,Kotak Bank,BAnk India and ICICI Bank closed in green while Canara Bank,HDFC Bank and Corporation Bank closed in red.

BSE Sensex closed at 19,243.17 points and is down 472.28. Both BSE Midcap and BSE Smallcap indices closed more than a percent up .

Top sectoral indices gainers include Auto,Bankex,Consumer Durables, FMCG, Health care and IT.

Markets open green but loose points - October 26, 2007

Markets opened in the green but Nifty and Sensex began to loose points as trade volumes began to increase. Midcap and Junior cap indices opened in green showing an indication of increased focus on smaller and penny stocks.

Sensex is down 140 points and Nifty about 50 points.

Reliance Energy, Hero Honda, ABB, Reliance Petro, Bharti Airtel opened in green.

ICICI Bank opened about Rs. 44 down becoming one of the big loser at the opening time.

Idea Cellular, HUL, Tata Motors opened marginally in red.
