The Bombay Stock Exchange Ltd. announced the launch of BSE Realty Index on July 9, 2007 to mark its 133rd Foundation Day.
The ‘BSE Realty Index’ on October 30, 2007 opened at 10365.08 and touched an intra-day high of 10545.08 to close the day at 10516.99, up by 241.98 points, 2.36% from its previous close of 10275.01. It touched an intra-day low of 10191.53.

The derivative contracts in the underlying JPHYDRO & IFCI have crossed 95% of the market-wide position limit on Oct 30, 2007. It is hereby informed that all clients/ members shall trade in derivative contracts of JPHYDRO & IFCI by offsetting their existing positions till the open interest comes down to 80% of the market wide position limit.
