The Indian Markets registered a good growth on trades today. Sensex closed at the 20,192 points mark and is up 338 points. Nifty 50 is up 85 points and closed at 6070 points. The other Asian markets are positive but have lost much of their gains by the closing time.
Buying interest is evident in Indian blue chip stocks. The Midcap and Smallcap stocks too did their part.
Reliance Industries, Reliance Petrol, Reliance Energy, Reliance Capital all closed in the green. BPCL has hit its year high. Tata Steel did well and so did the metal stocks. Nagarjuna Fertilizers closed positive.
Sugar stocks are trading good. Bajaj Hindustan has hit its yearly high. Amongst the banking stocks, Kotak Mahindra Bank has done remarkably well. The stock zoomed 4.9% today and so did Corporation Bank.
The large cap IT stocks that were seen weak in the early hours have rebound back though not to the expected extent. Infosys and Satyam managed to close in the green while TCS is down by 0.85%. Subex and CMC has lost considerably today.
Some of the top midcap gainers of the day include Ansal Infra, HCC, Bajaj Hindustan, J&K Bank, GE Shipping, Tata Chemicals, Corporation Bank, Nagarjuna Constructions, BEML, Punj Lloyd, Syndicate Bank, IVRCL Infra, Andhra Bank amongst others.

Sensex is up 144 points and crossed the 20K mark in the first few minutes of trade. Nifty too is trading strong and is up about 30 points as volumes are starting to pick up.
ACC, DLF, State Bank of India, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, M&M are looking strong. Bharti Airtel, ONGC are marginally in the red. Deccan Aviation is up Rs. 4.55 after the news of a block deal in the script.
State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Union Bank of India are showing good volumes on Banking stocks. SBI, Corporation Bank and Bank of India are up by over 1% on the Nifty.
IT Stocks are trading mixed today. Large cap IT stocks such as Infosys, Satyam, TCS, HCL are in the red while midcap IT stocks are getting increased attention. Tata Elxsi, HCL Insys, Hexaware, CMC, IFlex, Subex, Rolta, Tech Mahindra and GTL are up by 1% in the first hour of trade.
ITI is up Rs. 5.8 and is trading at Rs. 63.85 levels. Arvind Mills is up Rs. 2.35. Power grid is trading at 138.6 levels.

It is December 26 all Asia and almost all Asian stock markets are buzzing. Most markets are up by over a percent. Currency traders are favoring Yen exports as the Japanese stocks are buzzing in the green. Shanghai Composite, Nikkei 225 and Straits Times are marginally in the green, Seoul Composite and Taiwan Weighted marginally in the red while almost all other markets are in the up by over a percentage.
Earlier on December 24, 0144.HK - China Mer Hold, 0012.HK - Henderson Land, 0017.HK - New World Dev, 0883.HK - CNOOC, 0939.HK - CCB, 0386.HK - SINOPEC Corp are buzzing on the Hang Seng. The index is closed at 28,128.80 gaining 501.88 points and is up 1.82%
