The media had reports on 1st Jan, 2008 that Alphageo (India) Limited may acquire offshore seismic survey Company in Kazakhstan.
The Exchange, in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded, had written to the officials of the company.
Alphageo (India) Limited has vide its letter inter-alia stated, “The Company has been exploring various possibilities of entering into strategic alliances with companies involved in similar/related activities for expansion of its business. The Company has been discussing these possibilities with interested companies across the globe. Since this is an ongoing process, it would be premature to confirm or deny any news appearing in the media at this juncture.”

The media had reports that UCO Bank is in talks to merge a bank with itself by FY09 and may raise atleast Rs. 450 crore through follow on public offering (FPO).
The Exchange, in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded, had written to the officials of the company.
UCO Bank has vide its letter inter-alia stated,”We vehemently deny the contents of the referred news item. Our Bank’s proposal involving restructuring of capital has been submitted to the Central Government for its ‘ in principle approval’ which we are awaiting.”

The derivative contracts in the underlying BONGAIREFN & APTECHT have crossed 95% of the market-wide position limit on January 02, 2008. It is hereby informed that all clients/ members shall trade in derivative contracts of BONGAIREFN & APTECHT by offsetting their existing positions till the open interest comes down to 80% of the market wide position limit.
