News about Monnet Ispat Limited

The media had reports that Monnet Ispat Ltd may set up a 1,000 MW power plant in Indonesia.

The Exchange, in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded, had written to the officials of the company.

Monnet Ispat Ltd has vide its letter inter-alia stated, “The Company is only in discussion with the Indonesian authorities for putting up coal fired Power Plant in that country on a pit-head basis. We would like to clarify that nothing has been finalized so far and it is only at the stage of discussions. We cannot commit at this stage whether the proposal will fructify or not.”
