Markets volatile - IT, Banks positive

The Indian stock markets are volatile in todays trade. The Nifty is down 0.52% at 4407.45 while the CNX Midcap is down by a percentage at 5746.60. CNX IT and Bank Nifty are trading firm.
The BSE Sensex opened at 14,681.14 and is currently trading at 14,709.67 having lost 14.51 points or 0.10%. Auto, Oil & Gas, Metal and Power Sectoral Indices are down over 1%
Top gainers on Nifty include HDFC (up 4%), HDFC Bank, Dr. Reddy (both up over 2%), L&T, Sun Pharma, ONGC, Infosys Tech, DLF (both up over 1%), HUL and TCS (both up marginally)
