The script opened for trade on NSE at Rs. 254.00 and at Rs. 250.00 on the BSE. The script touched a high of Rs. 274.00 and a low of Rs. 250.55 on the NSE. Looking at the initial movement, the listing is undoubtedly a good one.

The Indian stock markets that had a gap-up opening this morning, ended the day in the positive territory. The BSE Sensex closed the day at 17,558.73 points up by 93.92 points (up 0.54%). All sectoral indices on the BSE, except the Oil & Gas, ended the day in the green. The Auto, Metal, Consumer Durables, FMCG and the PSU indices are up over 1%. The NSE Nifty closed the day at 5232.20 points and is up by 0.60%.
Top gainers on the NSE include ACC, JP Associates, M&M, Tata Motors, Reliance Capital, Grasim, SAIL, Tata Steel, BPCL and Wipro. Top losers on the NSE today are NTPC, Bharti Airtel, Reliance, Maruti, Suzlon, Ranbaxy, Hero Honda, HDFC, Sun Pharma and ABB.

Shares of JSW Energy (NSE:JSWENERGY; ISIN:INE121E01018) got listed on the boruses this morning. The script got listed at a premium of about 2%, at Rs. 106 on the NSE and at Rs. 102 on the BSE. JSW Energy is a Sajjan Jindal-led JSW Group company. The script had a good listing with the script opening for trade above its issue price. In fact, the script opened way above the markets expectations and has come as a cheer for the investor community. Earlier, the initial public offering (IPO) was able to impress the investor community as it got subscribed 1.68 times.
JSW Energy opened at Rs 102 and has touched an intraday high of Rs 106.40 on the BSE while the markets expected it to list below its issue price.
As of 10:30 AM IST, the script is trading subdued at Rs. 102.45 after hitting a high of Rs. 106.35 and a low of Rs. 101.00 on the NSE. As many as 30882791 shares got traded so far with a turnover of Rs. 31880.31 lakhs.

Indian stock markets starts their first trading of the new year in a new opening bell timing
The Indian stock markets opened their day on a positive note. The NSE is opening in at a new time for trade at 9:00 starting today.
Top Nifty gainers this morning are M&M, BPCL, Tata Motors, ACC, SBI, Tata Power, HDFC, Cipla, Sun Pharma and Tata Steel. On the losing end are Reliance, Bharti Airtel, R Power, Ambuja Cement, JP Associates, Reliance Infra, Siemens, Sterlite Industries, HDFC Bank, HCL Technologies.
Reliance Industries (BSE: 500325 | NSE: RELIANCE | ISIN: INE002A01018) is trading at about 1,068.95 down by -20.45. The script opened the day at 1,094.00, hit a high of 1,094.00 and a low 1,022.00 so far. Reports say a block deals of 2.5 crore shares of the script on BSE, NSE at Rs 1,035 per share might have triggered the scrip to slip a little.

India-First Life Insurance formed by Bank of Baroda (44% stake), Andhra Bank (30%) and Legal and General (26%) is planning to a business of Rs. 200 crore by the end of March 2010. First Life has applied for license to the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) for licenses and is planning to open 50 branches of its own.
India-First Life will start offering its products with the launch of three plans, all three of which as ULIP plans. The plans cater to savings, children and retirement planning.
