The Indian stock markets are keenly waiting for the upcoming budget and is expecting its announcements to bring in some policy changes to gear up the economy.
The SENSEX closed the day at 17587.67 gaining 84.43 (0.48%) points while the NIFTY closed at 5359.55 gaining 26.00 (0.49%) points. However, the Midcap and small cap stocks rallied a bit today with the CNX Midcap closing at 7759.75 gaining a whopping 289.20 points or 3.87% in trade today. The BSE Smallcap closed at 6796.26 gaining 136.89 points or 2.06%.
Natco Pharma wins compulsory license from Bayer. The script is up at Rs. 313.70 gaining Rs. 17.55 (5.93%)
Kingfisher Airlines is reportedly decided to go ahead for talks to sell 24.5% stake. Kingfisher Air moved up at Rs. 21.25 gaining Rs. 0.25 (1.19%)
With Jet Airways defaulting on service tax payment, the Tax dept threatened to freeze the airline’s accounts. Jet Airways appears to following the same path as Kingfisher. The script is down at Rs. 292.65 slipping Rs. 1.45 (-0.49%) in trade today.

Election results from some of the key states of India and the Iran-Isreal clash has lead the Indian markets to tumble down by 1% today. The SENSEX closed at 17173.29 losing 189.58 (-1.09%) points. Soon after the opening bell, the markets seem to have seen some buying but in about an hours time, the direction reversed and bears overtook. By noon, the markets have slipped into the red and gained further ground in the red by the closing bell.
The NIFTY closed at 5222.40 losing 57.95 (-1.10%). Smallcaps are more dangerous than the Midcaps. The CNX Midcap closed at 7468.00 slipping 61.50 (-0.82%) points while the BSE Smallcap is down at 6700.19 losing 87.51 (-1.29%) points.
Tata Motors bids for ailing SAAB. The script closed at Rs. 267.00 losing 7.15 (-2.61%).
Business Standard reported that TPG, Blackstone, Cerberus eye Kingfisher Airlines stake. Kingfisher Airlines is down at Rs. 22.55 losing Rs. 0.60 (-2.59%)
Kotak Institutional Equities has given a SELL call on Mphasis. The Change in INR/USD rate to drive EPS upgrade lead to the cut revenue estimates. The target price for the script is Rs. 350.
Higher margins drive earnings upgrade for Havells India. KIE has given a ADD call to it with a price target of Rs. 600
KIE has downgraded earnings due to lower sales growth guidance for United Phosphorus and given a ADD call to the script with a target of Rs. 150.
KIE has given a REDUCE call for Reliance Industries with a target of Rs. 855
Nomura has continued the BUY call on Lupin and has given a price target of Rs. 576.

Markets has lost grip and a selling spree fueled by import bills and falling ruppee has lead the Sensex to slip as much as 274 points today to close at 17362 points. It is down 1.55%.
NIFTY closed at 5280.35 losing 79.05 (-1.47%) points. The CNX Midcap closed at 7529.50 down 125.95 (-1.65%) points. The BSE Smallcap ended at 6787.70 slipping 71.94 (-1.05%) points.
Top losers of the day is lead by Jaiprakash Asso, DLF, Hindalco and SAIL (down over 5% each), GAIL (down over 4%), Jindal Steel, ICICI Bank, BHEL, Tata Steel, SBI, Siemens and Hero Motocorp (down over 3% each).
The gainers pack is lead by Reliance Infra and Reliance Power (up 5% each), Tata Motors (up over 2%) and Reliance Comm (up over 1%) in a rather seller-dominated day.
JSPL promoters create fresh pledge of 1.45 crore shares. Jindal Steel closed at Rs. 568.25 down Rs. 23.20 (-3.92%).

The markets had a volatile day with a huge V shaped swings in both the directions before the markets closed marginally in the green.
SENSEX closed at 17636.80 gaining 52.83 (0.30%) points while NIFTY managed to close in the green at 5359.35 adding 19.60 (0.37%) points in trade today. CNX Midcap closed at 7650.95 slipping 12.85 (-0.17%) points while BSE Smallcap closed at 6827.66 down 6.19 (-0.09%) points.

Allcargo Global said it will demerge 2 divisions and buy new vessels. Allcargo closed at Rs. 139.35 gaining Rs. 0.95 (0.69%)
Jeh Wadia says Britannia’s JV with Bombay Realty will turn Britannia’s Bangalore HQ into commercial. Britannia reacted sharply and closed at Rs. 538.40 gaining Rs. 14.75 (2.82%).

Volatility trading continued in the Indian stock markets even today. The SENSEX closed at 17583.97 slipping -168.71 (-0.95%) while the NIFTY closed at 5339.75 down 45.45 (-0.84%).
The CNX Midcap fare relatively better having closed at 7663.80 slipping only 41.80 points (-0.54%) while the BSE Smallcap closed at 6833.85 down 26.12 (-0.38%).
Top losers of the day include DLF (down over 5%), Mah and Mah and IDFC (down over 3% each), NTPC, ICICI Bank, BHEL, Larsen, Axis Bank and Tata Steel (down over 2% each).
On the gainers side are Maruti Suzuki (up over 4%), Reliance Infra, Reliance Power, Ambuja Cements, Cairn India and Siemens (up over 2%).
JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley appointed backers for Tech Mahindra, Mahindra Satyam merger process. Mahindra Satyam closed at Rs. 68.25 down Rs. 0.50 (-0.73%).
IT Dept raids premises of Uttam Galva Steel. The script is down at Rs. 71.45 losing Rs. 1.65 (-2.26%).
