MAT extended for IT Companies now. Companies such as Infosys, TCS now have to pay more tax.
Dividend distribution tax increased to 15% (ONGC, NTPC are big dividend payers)
ESOPs brought under FBT starting April 2008
Nifty 50 is currently at 3825 (Down 68) while Sensex is at 13214 (down 264)

More allotments for Urban Employment programs. More funds for drinking water. Public Distribution System to go for computerization.
More allocations for programs of SCs and STs. SC and ST students doing MPhil and PhDs to be covered under Rajiv Gandhi Fellowship programs to get more funding.

School Education allocation 35% increase to Rs. 23,142 Cr. More funds for Teachers Training. More funds for construction of class rooms. Mid day meal to cover upper primary classes in some blocks.
Secondary education schemes funding doubled. Schemes under formulation.
National Test for school scholarship for studying Classes 9th, 10th and junior college level. Corpus fund formulated for this.
Sensex recovers though down by about 260 pts. Nifty 50 down by 79 pts

Central Government to continue to check inflation - Highlights importance of state governments to support in the job.
Need to evaluate the concept of forward trading and its impact on inflation.
Need to set higher goals for the Common Minimal program.
Faster employment creation in objectives.
