Indian markets close in green, FMCG and Metal sectors up over 3%

The Indian stock markets had a green closing after about 5 trading sessions in the red. The Nifty closed up 1.88% while the Sensex closed up 2.05%
The Sensex closed at 16,949.14 up by 341.13 or 2.05%. Sensex Midcap is up 0.24% while the Smallcap indices is down 1.35%. The BSE 100, 200 and 300 are up by 1.88%, 1.74% and 1.51%
On the BSE Sectoral indices, Realty stocks are up by 4.27%. FMCG and Metal indices are up 3.5%. Bankex, Oil & Gas, Power are up over 2% today.
Nifty closed the day at 4929.45 up 1.88%. Nifty Junior is up 0.40%. CNX IT is down 0.14%, Bank Nifty is up 2.78%. CNX Midcap index is up 0.81% and Micap 50 index is down 0.61%
IT stocks had a mixed day today. Infosys closed the day a mere 0.01% up. Satyam is up 2.86%, TCS is up 0.50% while Wipro is down 3.11%. Rally in Rolta is continuing as the script is up 6.14% today. HCL Tech is up 1.51%
Banking stocks had yet another great trading session. Bank of India is up 6.15%. Bank of Baroda and HDFC Bank are up 4%, ICICI Bank, SBI, Kotak Bank are up over 3%
Unitech is back on steroids today. The script opened the day at 312.00, touched an intraday high of 367.80 and intraday low of 312.00 before closing at 354.30. Other leading gainers of the day include Hero Honda up by over 7%, Tata Steel and SAIL are up over 6% while ITC is up 5%.
On the large cap decliners of the day, National Aluminium is down 6%, Cipla and Wipro are down 3%, Idea, Reliance Communication, Bajaj Auto, Zee Limited, Sun Pharama are down over 2%
On the Midcap stocks, Bajaj Hindustan is down by over 9.6%, Bombay Dyeing is down 4%, Mphasis, Shree Cements, Aurobindo Pharam and Divis Labs are all down over 3%. Nagarjuna Constructions, Rolta, LITL, Wockhard Pharama, CESC topped the active gainers list today.
