Indian markets open positive, marginally in red - December 13, 2007

The Indian stock markets opened on a positive note but soon drifted into the negative territory. Nifty is down marginally. CNX 500 is up 0.21%, Bank Nifty is up 0.32%, CNX IT id down 0.38%. Nifty Junior is up by 0.90%

Sensex is up by 56 points and is up 0.28%. Midcap and Smallcap indices are up by 1%. FMCG sectoral index is up 3%.PSU, Oil and Natural Gas and the IT sectoral indices are in the red.

Top gainers on the Sensex in the first few minutes of opening bell are ITC, M&M, Hindalco, Tata Steel, Cipla, Reliance Communications, DLF, ACC, SBI and BHEL. The top losers pack includes Bharti Airtel, HDFC, Wipro, ONGC, HDFC Bank, Bajaj Auto, TCS, Ambuja Cement, ICICI Bank and Grasim.

State Bank of India is trading at 2459. The stock’s 52 week high is at 2475.25 and 52-week low is 845.00
