Indian Midcap stocks open strong – November 19, 2007

The Indian Stock markets opened in the green this morning. Midcap stocks continue to attract good attention with CNX Midcap Index up by about 150 points. The Index is up 2.5%. Nifty 50 us up 48 points and Sensex up by 195 points.

Hotel Leela jumped Rs. 2.4 and is trading at around Rs. 70. Indian Hotel is trading at Rs. 144

Top Nifty gainers in the earlier hours of trade are MTNL, Grasim, ACC, Hindustran Petrol, ITC, NTPC, Hindustan Unileaver, BPCL, Bajaj Auto and Unitech. Top early losers are the technology stocks - Wipro, Satyam and TCS all trading marginally in red. Other losers include HDFC Bank and Dr. Reddy

Nifty Bank Index gainers are Union Bank, Bank of Baroda, Corporation Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Oriental Bank.
