Markets slips midday, closes deep in red

The post mid-day trades drove the markets deep into the red. Nifty closed down by 2.28% and is at 4126.90 at closing bell. Sensex has shed 424.65 points and closed at 13570.31 points down by 3.03%. IT, Realty and Banking stocks does most of the damage in todays trade.
CNX 100 closed down by 2.32%, CNX 500 is down 2.03%. CNX IT is down 5.04% and Bank Nifty is down 4.29%
Top Nifty gainers of the day include Sun Pharma, NALCO, BPCL, Cairn, Hero Honda, HCL Tech, Cipla, Tata Communications and Tata Power.
Top Nifty losers include Ranbaxy, DLF, Wirpo, Satyam Computers, TCS, HDFC, ICICI Bank, Infosys, Tata Motors and HDFC Bank.
The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices are down 2.06% and 1.63% respectively. All sectoral indices on the BSE closed in the red.
