Markets stay volatile - Closes positive at the end of day - June 1, 2007

CNX NIFTY closed on Friday at 4297.05 and is up 0.03%. CNX NIFTY JUNIOR is up 1.38% while CNX 100 closed at 0.21%. CNX IT is up 0.99% while BANK NIFTY added 1.27% points today.
On the CNX IT, 16 stocks advanced and 4 declined. GTL, Subex, FinanTech, Patni and HCL Insys gained while Hexaware, Rolta, CMC and Tata Elxsi closed in the red. On the Bank Nifty, 11 are advanced and 1 declined. Canara Bank, Oriental Bank, SBI, Kotak Bank and Union Bank gained while Bank of Baroda closed the week in the red.
Sensex closed at 14,570.75 points and gained 26.29 points. Midcap and Smallcap indexes added half a percentage point. Sectorally, Auto, Bank, Capital goods, IT, FMCG and PSU remained positive while Consumer Durables and Oil & Gas sectoral indices closed in the red.
Experts say the markets would add about 300 to 400 points in the next two weeks. Midcap stocks are shining apart from the fact that Mutual funds have been launching or promoting midcap funds, the funds of which are flowing into the equity markets.
