Nifty tests 5400 - February 9, 2012

The Nifty has finally breached the 5400 mark and closed comfortably at 5412 at closing time today. With this, volatility is expected to hit the markets when the exchanges open tomorrow.
SENSEX closed at the 17830.75 points mark gaining 123.43 (0.70%) while the NIFTY ended at 5412.35 adding 44.20 (0.82%) points in trade today. Much of the gains are in the midcap and smallcap space. The CNX Midcap closed at 7533.60 gaining 98.10 (1.32%) points while BSE Smallcap closed at 6892.49 gaining 80.34 (1.18%).
HSBC Global Research has given an Overweight call on Bharti Airtel with a target of Rs. 475.
PINC Research has given a BUY call on M&M with a target of Rs. 885
Nomura has given a BUY call on Coal India with a target of Rs. 398. The target was reduced from Rs. 433 to Rs. 398.
